“WE NEVER FORGET” | A heartwarming moment at Military Appreciation Day Open Practice

I think just acknowledging that we’re going through this hard time, I think for a lot of people it’s out of sight, out of mind, but it’s not like that for us at all. So to hear the head coach say like We never forget. That means so much because we feel like people do forget. Joshua had the most addictive personality of anybody that I know. I thought he was like the sun, the moon, the stars. My everything and a lot of things to a lot of people. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was very kind and generous to anybody he would meet. He had a contagious laugh. No matter where you were in the house, or if you were next door, his laugh was so distinct and so special. You could be having the worst day, and you would immediately laugh just hearing it. I definitely miss that laugh. The brotherhood that he felt towards his fellow shipmates was just incredible. They were his brothers and sisters. Our family has grown so much just because of the brotherhood that he developed with the seamen their spouses and families, and coming to organizations like this and other events. You just grow. Your military family grows. To have this group of people that support you, that understand you, you can just look at them and not say anything and you just get it, you know what’s going on, it just means so, so much. Today was special. The Falcons, the whole training day made me feel special. It’s a nice way of remembering Joshua. I could see him looking down and smiling at the amount of fun we had here today. Just being surrounded by the Falcons, and other military and non-military all together, on this day, I think the whole day is beautiful.
