What attracted me to the University of Sunderland were the varied courses which were available for computing. I came to the open day, and from then I was totally set on Sunderland. I’m looking for a business-focussed role in ICT, so project management or software consultancy. I also did a placement year, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It involved working for a company called Caterpillar, in Peterlee in the North East. My role included technical support, right through to business analyst, which was a varied number of roles around the business, and I still work there part-time, which means that I’m still getting an income and learning more from Caterpillar, that will hopefully result in a job at the end. I’ve enjoyed all four years I’ve been here. If you want to do a course here it really helps you become a well-rounded person, and leave with good life skills as well as a degree.
