iPage – Web Hosting Review & Tutorial

Whether or not you’re new to web hosting,
finding the ideal hosting service can be overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be. In this in-depth
review we’ll show you just what iPage can do. Let’s get started. iPage is great for anyone new to hosting.
We highly recommend the Essential Plan which starting at $1.99 per month, includes everything
from unlimited hosting space and domains to an array of marketing tools and even one-click
installation. The pricing is a bit misleading and you’re actually billed yearly not monthly.
So watch out for that. Also, the price advertised is an introductory offer only and your account
will automatically renew at $6.99 per month. On the plus side, you can sign up for a one,
two or three year subscription. For those planning a more robust website,
iPage offers VPS and Dedicated hosting. Whichever plan you decide on, the good news is that
all packages include a 30-day money back guarantee. We’re going to focus on the Essential Plan.
The signup process is simple but take note, iPage will try upsell you pricey packages
you don’t necessarily need. Once you’ve completed this, you’ll be presented with
the control panel. Here you can configure and manage your website.
Other aspects of your website like email, domain and marketing tools can also be controlled
here. Every icon you see is a tool you can use to create your website. Let’s start by setting up the website. The
great thing about iPage is that it offers one-click installation for all blog and CMS
platforms. That means you’ll be up and running in no time. You can install WordPress without
any hassle. There’s also the option to use Weebly for a quick and easy website builder.
For those interested in something other than WordPress or Weebly, there’s an extensive
selection of CMS and blog platforms as well as website builders to choose from. The File Manager and FTP client makes it really
easy to manage your website. We found them intuitive to use and liked the control they
gave us over the creation process. Another feature worth taking note of is the
goMobi Site Builder. This lets you create a separate mobile website. You’ll be charged
extra for this mobile optimized site, and while it may improve loading time, keep in
mind that most templates are responsive. So while this may be nice to have, it isn’t
an absolute must. Here you can set up your email. This is a
simple process and you can create unlimited accounts. See how easy that was? iPage also
offers a comprehensive spam filter which you can configure to suit your needs. We’re
particularly fond of the Whitelist/ Blacklist which gives you even more control over what
email makes it into your inbox. For anyone new to web hosting, domain management
can be tricky at first. iPage simplifies the whole process making it easy to register and
add new domains. You get a free domain on signup and there’s also the option to use
your own domain. New domains can be added easily, but you’ll have to pay for them
separately. While iPage does include basic website statistics,
there’s also the option use Google Analytics for a more in-depth look at website activity.
We recommend giving this a try. Where iPage really stands out is when it comes
to the extensive selection of marketing tools on offer. For example, you can create a professional
looking Facebook business page in only a few clicks. There is also the option to use Google
Adwords and Bing Ads to promote your website. In fact, iPage offers $100 of free Google
Adwords and Bing Ad credits We found iPage to be an intuitive and reliable
web hosting service. We highly recommend it for anyone new to hosting. Here are the main pros:
• Host unlimited domains • Free site building tools
• Impressive uptime But there are also a few cons:
• Cpanel not user-friendly • Costly renewal fees Still not sure whether iPage is for you? For

    Hi all,

I would like to share my painful and outrageous experience with iPage. I have been with iPage for the past 4 years but today I had enough. Also I would recommend you all to think about dealing with them.

1- SiteLock should not be introduced as a “partner" but as a company owned by iPage such nomination is misleading and unethical. This for me is the main issue as you have a clear dominant position and push a service to your customer claiming it is for there own benefit.

2- iPage team was able to identify the malware that infected my websites and was not able to confirm that this “malware” was the result of my actions (or people visiting my websites) or websites hosted on my shared server. So basically they asked me to pay an extra $200 for something I might not be responsible for.

3- The lack of professionalism of iPage teams was outrageous online chat was a robot and IT hotline was having fun with me, no manager to talk to and condescendant operators. Not to mention the hours waiting to get someone.

I will waste more of my time : move to another provider / find another malware cleaner service and make sure I advertise the service I received from you guys. After 4 years with you I was expecting more from them.

    Kindest
