Installing Plex Media Server on openmediavault: Raspberry Pi 3


Welcome to PcMac today we are going to
install plex media server on open media world so let’s get started first of all
we are going to check the IP address of our open media world I’m scanning and IP
address is 1 9 2 1 6 8 1.80 so let’s open the Google Chrome and type the IP
address that’s it and hit enter now I’m going to login so here is the dashboard
now we need to check the date and time first of all we need to set the date and
time to the correct so first of all you need to just close NTP server and then
select the correct date I am setting the today’s date and time now once we click on a bit it will ask
you to again login to your server so you need to hit enter and reload now we need
to login again as we log back in again we check the date and time now it’s
correct match with our system time and the time zone is correct now we go into
plug-in and look for plex media server by just typing plex and as you can see
there is no package for plex so what we’ll do we’ll check for wave or LAN by
installing this service we trigger our plex media and their plugins to
installed on our computer so first of all we install this plug-in to our open
media world really wait for a moment until it installed in a machine now the
installation of this plug-in is finished so we will go ahead and click on close
and ok this will refresh our open media vault now we are again here on our
dashboard let me just close this extra window and now we go into plug-in again
and check for plex is it available or not so it’s not available now we go into
the update management and check whether there is any new update available or not
the check-in will take around one minute now as you can see there are three
packages available to update we ago we go ahead and select all these three
packages from the top we will put a check on the top and click on upgrade to
upgrade all these packages it might take a moment to install all these three
packages once you see done on the bottom of the screen that means all the
packages are installed correctly then you need to it close and when you hurt
close the page will refresh and now we need to go into plugin and search for
plex and check whether it’s available or not as you can see it’s available now so
we go ahead and select the package and try to install it as click yes and
installation will begin now it will take a moment to install we need to wait so as the package installation is
finished you can see the done on the bottom we need to hit as you can see
here on the bottom left corner there is no Plex server available we hit close
and press ok it will refresh the page and once the Refresh has done you can
see the plex media server is available for us to configure on the bottom left
corner now we need to click on plex media server and first of all enable it
and then we need to select the database like the drive which we already
installed in our Raspberry Pi we selected and then we need to click the
Plex P add-ons and run them these add-ons help us to install add-ons on
our plex media server like the video players in anything so it’s configuring
all the updates and add-ons now for the plex media server it also takes some
time to install now the configuration is finished for
Plex Media Server and we can go ahead and click on flex
web client to open our web client and I’m already the disturb with my email I
need just click on sign in to automatically signed in to my plex
account and then click on got it now in our next video I’m going to show you how
you can set up your plex server and we’ll try to watch some movies through

    Hi… thanks for the video.
    Following your tutorial, the installed version was at 1.12.1.4885 … when I enter settings, it says there is an update and says I should do it manually.
    Can you tell me how to do this update?
    One more thing … I tried to install the Trakt add-on, but I did not succeed.
    I think it's because of the version.
    Anyway, I would appreciate it if you could help me.
