How to Fix Image Upload Issue in WordPress

Hello and welcome to WPBeginner.com. Today,
I’ll show you how to fix image upload issues in WordPress. Sometimes you can see your images in the media
library as broken and you wonder what happened. Often times its caused by the wrong file permissions.
Usually when a host upgrades, something might change on the file structure and this is an easy fix. You just need to go into your website with
an FTP client like filezilla and go to wp-content directory directory. Look for the uploads folder, right click and choose file permissions. make sure it is set to 744 for the uploads
folder and for the subdirectories. You also want to make sure you apply to directories only and click ok. Filezilla will go through the process of updating
the permissions. Note if 744 doesn’t solve the problem then
try 755 on the folders and sub folders. Now I can go back into the WordPress admin area and upload to the media library and you’ll see things are normal again.
