Every website needs a domain name, but as
more and more domain names are being registered, it’s getting more and more difficult to
find one that’s available. This video will show you how to check to see if your chosen
domain name is available. So, how do you check to see if your chosen domain name is available?
There’s a link below this video which will take you to Namecheap, a domain registration
service. Click the link and it’ll take you to this screen. Then, all you need to do is
enter your preferred domain name into this box. Let’s walk through an example. Let’s
assume I’m a Window Cleaner called Clear Vision and I want to register the domain name
ClearVision.com, so I’ll type clearvision.com in this box and click the search button. This
will take me to the search results. I can see here that clearvision.com is already taken.
So, now I can check other variations either by entering different domain extensions in
the box. For example, I could change it to clearvision.co.uk. Or, I can scroll down and
check to see some other options here. Anything that isn’t marked as ‘taken’ can be
registered and used for your website. If you’re struggling to find a domain name that’s
available, we strongly recommend you check out our blogpost; ‘How To Choose The Best
Domain Name For Your Website’. It gives you loads of tips not only for choosing the
best domain name, but also things you can do if your preferred option isn’t available.
