How to Backup Emails From Webmail? I am Going to show You each & everthing Which You should know about backing up emails from Webmail. Importing & exporting emails from one webmail account to another webmail account. Even if you have changed your hosting account then How you can import emails to new webmail account. So we are going to cover each & everything inside this single video. So make sure You are watching this video till the end. Let’s start this tutorial. So here you can see on my screen, this is the cPanel of my website. And I am going to access Webmail account using cPanel But you can directly login to your webmail account. And for accessing Webmail, I have to click on email accounts. You can see here [email protected] So we are going to make backup of emails from this webmail account And for that we need to access this webmail account So click here “Access Webmail”. So once we are inside our webmail, First thing we have to do, we have to switch to Horde. Ok!
You have to click here & if you are using Roundcube or Squirrelmail, You have to click here on Horde. And your Webmail account will open inside Horde. Ok! And let me show you what will happen if you are using Roundcube or Squirrelmail. We are here inside Roundcube. Now when we want to take backup of a single email then we have to click like this on any email we want to backup. And then we have to click on these three dots. And then we click on Download(.eml).
Ok! And it will backup, it will download this particular email which you have selected. But if we select multiple emails to backup & then click here You do not get option to download or backup these emails. So basically Roundcube & Squirrelmail doesn’t allow us to backup all emails or any folder particular like inbox or any other folder So we have to switch to Horde. Now we inside Horde. Let’s say that we want to make backup of our inbox So what we have to do……. Any folder can be backed up from here, You simply have to right click on that folder & You have to select Export. Download into a MBOX file.
Click ok. Choose the location where You want to Backup all these emails Click Save. And here You can see a file is saved on my PC & this is a single file containing all these emails from this folder Inbox. So we are having a backup of our inbox folder. Now if You want to backup sent email then right click,
choose export And repeat the same process. So You can make backup of any folder you want using this method Now we are having a backup file from our
webmail account. Now let me show you, how You can use it to import emails to another webmail account. Or if You have changed your hosting account then how you can import to new webmail account. I am going to close this for now. And let’s say that I am having this webmail account here. [email protected] Guys using this backup file you can import emails to any webmail account. If you have switched Your hosting account then also you have to simply create a webmail account. You should have a webmail account there. And You can import using this file all your emails which are inside this particular file.
Ok! So let’s say that we want to import inside this Webmail account. So we have to access this webmail account. Now here You can see it’s opened inside Roundcube. So what You have to do.. You have to switch to Horde One more thing I want to tell You that after exporting & importing emails from webmail. You can switch between these options and you can use your webmail inside Roundcube. It will not effect your work. Ok…. We are using Horde just for making backup. So we are inside Horde. And we are having a Backup file of our inbox from another webmail account And we want to import this so it’s completely depend on You that where you want to import this. Like if you want to import inbox then you have to right click on inbox select import And you have to simply choose the file where you have saved . Select that file & click open. Ok.. And if you are having multiple files and you want to import into a single folder Like you have taken backup of sent emails also & you want to import inside this inbox then all You need to do One by one You have to first of all select this, Click Open Like this Click ok.
And A process will start of importing emails from this particular file. You do not have to refresh this page during that process. Make sure about this.
And Once the process is complete again you can Right click & Import another file. Like Let’s that I want to create a new Mail box/folder here. Like this .. We can create a new mail box by clicking on
Folder Actions. Ok.. Create Mailbox. And we have created a new mail box here and I am going to Import inside this Mailbox. So Right click on this and Import, choose the file Click Open. Click Ok. And you can see there Importing this may take some time. So during this process, You do not have to refresh your page. You do not have to close this page. And it will take some time. You can see at the bottom of this page on the left hand side. It’s uploading. And after uploading is complete. After importing is complete. Your all emails inside the file which you have selected is going to be showing inside this particular folder. Which you have selected for importing emails from this backup file. So you can see here we have imported emails from this backup file. So this way you can backup emails from any
webmail account. You can import emails from a backup file anywhere you want to inside any Webmail account Inside any folder you want. And even if you have changed your hosting account then also you can import emails from this particular backup file Which you have created, ok. Now one more thing I want to mention here that this file, this back file does not have any information about webmail accounts. Like Webmail Passwords , Contacts & anything else.
