HMAS Coonawarra ceremonial support for Northern Territory Navy Week

Well with 600 men and women here serving in the Navy in the Northern Territory I think we’ve become friends and neighbours with those individuals, those personnel with the Navy comes families who do become our neighbours become our friends, we work together and we unite during difficult times. There have been numerous disasters throughout our history where we have come together to get the community back up and running and provide support to each other. My involvement with Navy Week is the Freedom of Entry parade. The opportunity to connect with Navy personnel and even more than that, to thank the Navy for what they do for our Northern Territory, what they do for Australia but the way they do become true Territorians whilst they’re stationed here in the Top End.
