BUT TOMORROW BARRICADES WILL BE UP KEEPING TRAFFIC AWAY AS BRIDGE WORK STARTS.KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS SAY CONTRACTORS WILL BE PAINTING THE BRIDGE AND DOING MAINTENANCE WORK.THEY’RE CLOSING THE BRIDGE TO GET WORK DONE QUICKER.THAT MEANS DRIVERS WILL TAKE DETOURS ON ROADS INCLUDING KENTUCKY 554 AND TODD BRIDGE ROAD TO GET AROUND.TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS SAY THEY HOPE TO HAVE WORK ON THIS BRIDGE DONE BY SEPTEMBER SEVENTEENTH — WEATHER PERMITTING. 3 AMY–THE HENDERSON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY IS OFFERING A CHANCE TO HELP OUT HUNGRY KIDS — AND KNOCK OUT SOME LATE FEES.THE FOOD FOR FINES CAMPAIGN ALLOWS PEOPLE TO BRING IN NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS IN EXCHANGE FOR TWO DOLLARS OFF THEIR ACCOUNT BALANCE PER ITEM.THE LIBRARY RUNS THIS CAMPAIGN AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR– AND DONATES THE ITEMS TO DIFFERENT NON-PROFITS.THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY ARE OFFERING IT RIGHT BEFORE THE SCHOOL YEAR.THE FOOD WILL BE GOING TO HENDERSON COUNTY SCHOOLS WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES FOOD FOR KIDS WHO NEED IT OVER THE WEEKEND.(CALEB MAY)”They can not only help themselves out by reducing any fine balance they may have on their library account, but also then contribute to their community as a whole, and certainly kids, if they have a rumbly tummy, are not going to be as able to focus on reading and
