I've been watching (listening mostly) to your tutorials on my smart tv while i work on my channel on my laptop. I dont know how to subscribe, comment or like by smart tv. Do you? Anyway, thanks for doing what you do. Keep it up!

  • Victoria Irene

I'm a new subscriber so even though you have explained all of this before I didn't know the background of your success so it's nice to have it condensed into this video. Thanks for the info and tips!

  • Manuel (Mogely) Herrera

I just really want to thank you so much for all your tips and insight found your channel a year ago and it helped me grow and hearing this keeps me inspired! ❤️

  • GreasyGames

The only people that don't start from zero are the people like Donald Trump who's daddy is willing to give them a million bucks to get started.

  • The Leighty Life

Love it Roberto!! You are a man full of God's wisdom! Such a great source of encouragement & information! Also I'm old two – I used to capture videos from my VHS onto my old mac by using the coaxle input on the back of the computer 🙈

  • Spend Smart Live Happy

This might be my favorite video of yours. Solid message-really truly solid. Thank you for making the world a more inspiring place!

  • Here Be Barr

This is some great advice Roberto. I'm really getting a ton of value from your channel. Especially when you talked about how much commitment is necessary to create a succesful Youtube channel. Do you have a girlfriend, at times I even annoyed her with my focus on editing/shooting/research, haha.

  • Elise Billups

Thanks for this video. Earlier in the vid, you talked about the equipment you bought. Do you think an actual DSLR is still necessary these days since there are smartphone cameras?

  • Lavinia Lahrese

I really like the idea of doing videos 2-3x per week however it doesn't seem practical for those of us who have a full-time job. Do you have any recommendations about doing videos that often despite a full life outside of YouTube? Also, do you have any tips about posting that regularly if you don't already have a repertoire of videos waiting to be uploaded? Thanks Roberto!

  • creativebobbie

This is an excellent video, Roberto! Keep being an inspiration and a motivator! I'm working through this personal brand building myself.

  • Geekin Out

Great Video… I know what you mean about going over your past videos. I still cringe over my attitude and lack energy I've had in the beginning of creating my channel. Even though I'm growing I know there's still improvements to be made… And I'm going to push for that… Thank You for the Tips Brother.

  • SheaTheUnicorn

Hi Roberto, do you have a video/ suggestions on networking? I haven't participated in an event like that in a long time, mainly due to anxiety, but I would like to look into it. I think it would be incredibly helpful.

  • John Adam Gallegos

I honor your philosophy of not looking as subs and views as the metric of your success. Ive said this to myself that my only goal is to make each video better and better. To motivate, inspire and to entertain. Thanks for this Roberto!

This is one of your best lit videos. Looks great! Awesome advice as well. You are one of the very few people on YouTube who speaks about this stuff that I actually can trust. You just seem like such a legit dude!

  • Luke Prosser

Hi Roberto, yet again such a fantastic video and your delivery is superb. I'm currently building an education brand in music technology – the biggest challenge I have is doing this alongside a full-time job. I wondered if you have any tips/advice for growth and developing your own business while balancing paying rent/mortgage, bills, general life etc. in the early days. I realise that many online entrepreneurs took the leap and just quit, many couch-surfing etc. for the first couple of years. I wondered if you had your own story to share or any thoughts in this area? Thanks again for everything that you do!

Hi there Roberto! Im 19 and Ik that although being born in the internet era was a gift. I have not explored it to its full potential. Now I have decided to start building my personal brand in Social Media via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook I love to inspire people as I have been through on my own weight loss journey and I want help people and that has always been me but I realise that I am camera shy throughout my life. What should I do? Hope anyone anyone help:)

  • Truly Genuine

Hey thanks so much Robert this was really helpful but I also have a question: I work like 30-35 hours a week at my day job do you have any advice on how to make time for my brand because in the beginning I had so much energy and now I feel like I'm exhausted from trying to post a video every week to keep up with the consistency. Sometimes I just feel like I don't have enough time anymore

  • lotusbvby

I am so thankful I've stumbled on your channel. Currently trying to make a career change and your content is helping me so much!!!

  • Victor Mendoza

Your videos, valuetainment, and simple programmer, to me, deliver better more concrete content then hearing Gary preach Snapchat 1000 times in a video.

  • BNIBCD Creative Media

Damn Roberto.  I've been making strides over the last 6 months to realign my life and learn to make real income. Still hasn't happened. I'm resisting going to work for $12 ish an hour at some local "job".  I'm 38. Almost gave up on many of my creative passions over the years, but they still burn strong.  I'm backed up in child support. Live in my parents house. I've been on the verge of insanity so many times.  I don't know what I'm either doing or not doing correctly. I'm running out of money. I've been trying to vamp my portfolio, which has come a long way over the last few months. I know I can do it, but I'm not sure about what it is I'm supposed to be doing.  Every time I think an opportunity comes up, the "lead" tries to low ball me or wants free work. Any advice? Something has got to give. I'm getting too old and I cannot live that old life anymore. My life is half over and my son has 3 years of high school left. I need to set some examples for him. I cannot have him look down on me at some point in his life. Ok, I'm ranting now.  Thanks for the great videos.

Love your videos and how you have improved over the years your a big inspiration and keep up the nice content and cool videos

  • Kirsty Kirby

Hi Roberto! I really took your comments around not focusing on the numbers and making your videos continually suck a little less to heart. Its been my mantra for a little while. Its taken some time, and still a long way to go, but as of today my videos have took a bit step in the right direction, with a much much better camera and finally some lighting I'm starting to achieve the sort of results i was so frustrated that I couldn't get! I couldn't work out what i was doing wrong, i took the tie to study, to learn, and I now have a new found pride that has nothing to do with numbers! 🙂 x

  • Zachary Biss

The Accomplishment vs. Acknowledgement part … holy shoosh, you hit a home run with that one. Great video, Roberto!

  • SoulBeautiful T

so inspirational i can totally relate, I've cut out so many things, habits and ppl and got so much "tunnel vision" that ive been beginning to wonder if im working too hard for my own good. Thank u!

  • S.J.'s DIY Adventures

I'm thinking about rebranding. My nick name doesn't seem to have the same impact it used to twenty years ago when I used Spaldäm on the web everywhere. It made it easy for people to recognize me. Today it seems people don't trust or care for aliases anymore and want your real name.

Would S.J.'s Adventures work better today? Unfortunately SJ.com is owned by someone in China. SJH.com is taken too. SJadv.com doesn't look very good either.

  • operation.eight

Roberto, I have to say, this absolutely one of the most informative, inspirational, honest, and motivational videos I have ever seen- not just on your channel or in your niche, but on YouTube as a whole. You are so full of knowledge and wisdom and have a true gift in teaching others. Thank you so much for all that you do to help us all out, and thank you for creating something awesome today!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Authentic Self Guide

Thanks a lot for this. I have been researching this topic recently and this is one of the best videos I have come across!

  • Nkakini Echeonwu

You are a legend this is one of the best positive Youtube channels I have seen really helpful to get started and move forward, cheers!!!!

  • Mariusz Onysko

Hey Roberto how does it feel to be inspiring at 9.39 pm 8th December 2017 Warsaw Poland with this video? I guess awesome 🙂 great job

  • ThatWasACoolTrick

Yeah your older videos really needed better audio. Also, when you're recording in a crowded area it's better to have some noise from the crowd than extreme noise reduction

  • Relyea

It's all about that fail faster. I got the 2 or so videos a week and really need to step it up and go faster. I know I could make videos every other day if I truly focused and stoped trying for perfection. Nothing is going to be perfect as a new youtuber

  • Jonathan Acuña

Wow did you drop so much knowledge and insanely valuable advice. Instant subscribed. Looking forward to binging more so I can learn. Thank you for taking the time to make such great content

  • Vince Verheyden

Hi Roberto, first of all, love the stuff you're doing and make video's about ! Now I could use some feedback. I'm in the sports betting business and I want to bring more value in Belgium doing a podcast about sports betting and sports in general. Now I also understand that Belgium is only a fraction of the potential growth a podcast can produce. Would you try to nail it in Belgium or do it in English from the start? Thanks.

    Hey.
I recently decided to reopen my channel (6 weeks ago) I decided to do more planned videos rather than just recording with my cell as I did years back for the fun of it.
Once i did this the subscribers almost double from 600 to 1100+. I began following your channel and others like video creator and mediai influencers and i watch one of you guys almost every day in order to improve my channel.
My content is educational, i am a Theologian/Tour Guide/Archaeologist/author/Photographer and now giving back my knowledge via youtube.
Now my videos are long, and the system shows most people dont watch the whole content although it grew from 1:30 to almost 4 min average view still not e e half the content.
Shall break then my videos in more part, like 5 mins each and up load one once a day or once a week or once every 3 days?
What average time shall my videos be?
Many youtubers film their videos in the comfort of their home, as a tour guide i go out in the field showing everything in 4k and 360 degree.
I have already shoot content for the next 2 months so i can up load once a week.
The "why"of my channel is to give back to the community which i enjoy and hopefully in few years after gaining experi6ence make a passive income.
    I appreciate your insight.

I believe creative entrepreneurs put too much weight at perfection and the end result. It really is about the process and the experience and knowledge you gain along the way. To me, failure is the best thing that could happend to me because from them I been able to polish my business, my art and even my way of looking at life. Like you say, just start putting in the work and focus on getting better because small step everyday can sum up to a large distance if you do it consistently in long period of time

  • Dylan

This video was amazing. Exactly what I needed! I loved to hear how you didn't care about your 1000 sub milestone… don't get caught up in vanity metrics!

  • Billy Avery

I just found your channel today. I help my wife with her channel and am thinking about starting my own. But, I just wanted to say one thing and I don't usually do this.

Your video has helped me with things in my life, not just youtube. I'm looking to turn my life around right now and this hits so many keys with me that I needed to hear and this has happened about 5 times today with your videos.

Thank you again and I will continue to come back for help.
    Have a great day!

  • LA WiLL

  • Raul Madrigal

Robert, you mentioned a web hosting site that's easier than WordPress for, those who aren't familiar with html. What was name weebly? Thanks!

  • Sincere I am

I love your videos so far. This is the third one that I watched today and I just discovered your page. Please stop addressing the haters, they are not important. People are going to always hate on whats great! You are doing AWESOME!

  • EchoPaints

I like what you said with "there are products that are ahead of their time." And I love how you say that because business is also about getting the timing right.
